ABOUT THE POSITION
The Partnership for Los Angeles Schools is seeking a strategic Principal Supervisor, Elementary. The Principal Supervisor will manage, coach, and support five principals and their respective school-site teams to dramatically increase student achievement and school transformation. The Principal Supervisor is responsible for advising on school-based talent strategy and operational functions, identifying and embed sustainable solutions, and strengthening relationships with district leaders in service of student achievement.This is a full-time, year-round position.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Position responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Supervision and Coaching of School Leaders (60%)
- Manage, develop, coach and support five (5) elementary principals, and their teams, to develop and implement solutions that accelerate student achievement and can be sustained and scaled across the Partnership and LAUSD
- Thought-partner with principals to develop and align strategic plans (“Call-to-Action”) to district-wide goals
- Facilitate monthly leadership training and community-building activities for Partnership level teams, or staff that support elementary schools
- Ensure school leaders run highly effective leadership teams, improve student achievement, including early childhood literacy and the reclassification of multilingual learners, teacher practice, and school-wide academic culture
Strategic Leadership & Collaboration (30%)
- Lead and inspire Partnership colleagues in strategically coordinating and aligning resources and supports for 6 elementary school site teams
- Disaggregate and analyze data, identifying gaps, pain points and school site operational and talent needs
- Help to remove barriers to school success, deploying differentiated resources and supports
- Elevate best practices and core opportunities for systems change
Local District and LAUSD Coordination and Relationships (10%)
- Cultivate relationships with district colleagues and manage local district compliance and coordination efforts
- Work closely across functions to align on priorities, ensuring schools are in compliance with district policies
- Assess which policies and practices are barriers towards students’ college and career readiness
- Submit ideas for systems change to the Partnership team while embedding methods and best practices for sharing resources and learnings
POSITION FIRST-YEAR PRIORITIES
A successful first year in this role will look like:
- Develop strong relationships with principals and create a foundation to supervise, manage, develop, coach, and support them
- Strategically align and coordinate academic and operational resources from the Partnership home office to elementary schools
- Cultivate relationships and manage local district compliance and coordination efforts
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in education with a strong preference for candidates with a track record of envisioning and leading school transformation
- Minimum of 5 years of successful experience as a full‐time certificated public school principal
- Minimum 3 years of successful teaching experience
- Excellent organization and coordination skills with high attention to detail
- Adaptable to shifting priorities and competing demands while keeping organizational and team goals in mind
- Ability to work collaboratively across differences in work styles and skill sets
- Experience leading and managing multiple complex projects in a fast paced and innovative setting while remaining positive and solutions-oriented
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with administrative staff, instructional staff, and support staff
- Ability to cast clear and mission-aligned strategy and vision, and bring others along through goal-setting, progress monitoring, and executing day-to-day work
- Experience leading change management with key stakeholders
- Excellent critical- and systems-thinking skills with the ability to identify potential gaps, and equity gaps in particular
- Ability to build diverse and inclusive teams, including promoting transparent decision making, navigating conflict, and fostering psychological safety
- Familiarity with Smarter Balanced Assessments and general assessment systems, foundational literacy reading level assessments, and assessing core-content progress toward mastery
- Understanding and knowledge of adult learning principles, with experience designing and implementing comprehensive and innovative professional development programs
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to utilize quantitative and qualitative analysis to support decision-making
- The ability to travel between school sites and Partnership home office
- Spanish language fluency (spoken and written), preferred
- Working understanding of K-12 public education sector, preferred

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
The starting salary range for external candidates is $153,213-166,731. The Partnership’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion extends to our compensation practices. Our goal is to ensure that salaries are fair for all staff members who hold many intersectional identities, and we set salaries based on a robust compensation model grounded in consistency and transparency. The exact salary for this position is set through the Partnership’s compensation policy and is dependent on the candidate’s relevant skills,experiences, and organizational tenure. In support of our vision for pay equity, candidate salaries are determined by a formula and we do not negotiate.
